This email was send by the Komatipoort.com server to all registered users.
Our town portal, Komatipoort.com now has a newsletter section. As a registered user we have added you to the opt-in list for these newsletters. If you would not like to receive these letters, please use the opt-out link at the bottom of this email.
Registered Accommodation Owners were added to the "Accommodation" category of newsletters, registered Business Owners to "Business Owners" and everybody to the "General" category. You are allowed to customize these settings.
Did you know everything on our site is for free?
Except for banner ads appearing at the bottom of pages, the rest is for free:
- List your accommodation establishment
- List your business
- Forums
- Blogs
- Edit and maintain your listing yourself!
Between 10 October and 9 November
the statistics for Komatipoort.com over this period were:
- More than 550 unique visitors (that's excluding administrator access from us);
- average duration per visit more that 7 minutes and
- average number of pages per visitor more than 6!
(we have embedded Google Analytics on each page and soon we will make these stats dynamically available on the site)
The top 10 demographics of these visitors are:
- South Africa 366
- Canada 12
- United States 10
- Germany 10
- United Kingdom 9
- Italy 6
- Netherlands 5
- Mozambique 4
- China 4
- Australia 2
We guess that there could not be more than 60 people from Komatipoort visiting the site, so at least 300 visitors are from outside Komatipoort.

It's about time we get it going with daily changes!
We invite you to visit the site on a regular basis and tell your friends to do so as well. If you don't like the site or think we should add more, tell us about it, and we will try and fit it in.
The Challenge
We challenge all other towns in South Africa, to have more features than our town portal. Currently our portal has the following functionality:
- It's a dynamic CMS (Content Management System) with role based content editing
- Business Yellow Pages
- Accommodation Listing
- Points of Interest
- Integrated Maps
- Vendor Banner Ads *
- FAQ's
- Light-box gallery with slideshows
- Blogging
- Forums
- Newsletter
- Events with notification and event roll-ups from organizational calendars
- All schools with their own sub-sites
- Sub-sites for the churches (all, as soon as we have everyone's information)
- Pages made available for all organizations like clubs and NPO's
- Opt-in Newsletters
- Google Analytics
- Self help feature for certain members
(* this is the only item that is not for free, the rest are VERNIET)
Depending on the popularity of the site, we also plan to add:
- An automated weather station in the middle of the town with a life feed to the website.
- An accommodation reservation system for establishments.
- Involvement from the municipality and other towns in Nkomazi.
- And whatever other bright idea may come from YOU!
So whether our streets are dirty, you CAN be pround of your town's website!
